Zotero Chrome Connector Failure

My connector on Chrome continues to give the "Is Zotero Running?" error.

I've turned off all other extensions. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Zotero connector extension. I've closed and reopened Chrome.
"Zotero Connector Server is Available" shows up when I check http://127.0.0.1:23119/connector/ping
The Zotero desktop program (v. 5.0.96.2) does not show any available updates. My Chrome browser does not need any updates.

Any suggestions?
  • This would be a problem in Chrome — the browser itself can connect to Zotero but the extension can't. Try in another browser. If that works, try in a new profile in Chrome.
  • It was working in Firefox but now it's not. It gives me an error and directs me to this page: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/debugging_broken_documents or the plugin is greyed out entirely on Google Docs.

  • A problem in Google Docs would be completely unrelated.

    Start a new thread for that and provide more details on what's happening, along with a Report ID from Zotero after you get an error. I'm not sure what you mean by "the plugin is greyed out".
