Tag Search not working on v5.0.96.1 on Mac OS BigSur 11.2.3

I've lost the ability to search via tags since the update... it is working on a windows version so appears to be mac related.. is there a work-round, I have specific software on my mac that I need to use so can't swap between the two... thanks in advance
  • I suspect this is some sort of misunderstanding.

    Could you explain exactly what you're trying to do and what's happening?

    Have you tried restarting Zotero?
  • Yes I have restarted. So, I am trying to search for items in a folder that I have manually tagged last week. Last week when I searched in the project folder for the items that had these manually-added tags then the list of articles appeared. Since the update it does not appear on my Mac but does if I look on a windows PC. The only way now to search for articles by tag is at the top library level, not lower file root level which means where I have tagged within a specific project it gives me a list of ALL articles with that tag, not the ones in the specific project folder...
  • Where/how do you search for tags? The quick search bar or by filtering in the tag selector, or how? And does the collection have subcollections? Are the items in there?
  • I have been trying to search both in the top quick search bar and also in the main tag window bottom left (this worked last week). The items are definitely in there and when I click on the journal the tag is showing but when I search they do not come up in the list. As I mentioned, when I do it on my work PC (Windows) it works as it did before, the problem is just on my personal MacBook. Yes the collection has subcollections but the search is not working at any level other than top library level which had 5 years of research in so being able to search on the tags within the subcollections is vital ... hope this makes more sense. I love Zotero and never had an issue before today...

    Can you take screenshots of what you're trying and what's happening, upload them somewhere (e.g., Dropbox or Google Drive), and post a link here?

    OK, that shows a search. Click the down-arrow to check the search mode you're using (e.g., "Title, Creator, Year" vs. "All Fields & Tags").

    If they're both using the same search mode, we'd want to see the unfiltered view to see what the actual items in the collections are, as well as the results for using the tag selector. (You can send screenshots to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread if you don't want to share them publicly.)

    Note also that you're getting a sync error on one of the two computers that you'll need to resolve.
