Upgrade StorageZotero working with same document after reinstallation of MacOS?

Because of a problem with word, I would like to reinstall MacOS and wipe some data that might cause trouble. Can I just download Zotero again, import the library that I will export before wiping my disk and then it will work with the Word document again?
