Number to author citation

Hullo to anyone who can help. I'm using Word. When i click on citation and type in the one i want, then hit enter, a little number appears in the text. I'm used to having the author and year appear, on my other computer. I don't know why this is happening. Does anyone know how i can change it to having the author and year appear? Any help would be awesome thank you!!!

    You just need to choose an author-date style (e.g., APA) in the Zotero plugin's Document Preferences.

    Thanks dtillman, unfortunately, i can't find Document Preferences anywhere. I'm using Windows 10, does that make a difference?
