Metadata from Zotero Connector to JSON file

I was wondering if anyone has tried to find a way to pipe metadata, or any data relating to a pdf for that matter, into a local file on my computer before it goes straight to Zotero. Any points in the right direction would be helpful and greatly appreciated!
