New footnotes in every chapter

Hi,

Is there a way to start footnotes anew with every chapter for my thesis? I merged chapters as a single word document, but the footnotes has been changed. I would appreciate suggestions.

Is it just the numbering that needs to reset (you can just do that in Word) or do you also need to change subsequent notes to again appear as full notes the first time they appear in a chapter (which is possible-ish, but involves more steps)

Just the numbering, for example, chapter 1 (FN 1, 2, 3, ...). Chapter 2 (FN 1,2,3,...).

I would also appreciate if you tell me both.

You'd add new sections in Word and then can set up in Word to start footnotes at 1 for each section (see e.g. https://wordribbon.tips.net/T013682_Restarting_Footnote_Numbering_after_Page_Breaks.html ). Footnote numbering has nothing to do with Zotero.
