African Invertebrates style failure - Report No.: 2003500094

Hello all,

I had an MS Word manuscript working well with my default style ('ZooKeys'), but changed to the 'African Invertebrates' style and "Zotero experienced an error updating your file".

I worked through the troubleshooting without success. Then i checked that my Zotero is up to date. Then I succeeded in updating the style to 'Nature', 'Chicago (notes)' and 'Pensoft'. Finally, i started a blank document, entered one random citation in the 'African Invertebrates' style, and Zotero failed. My suspicion is that it's not my documents orZotero in general that are misperforming, and that it is the particular style.

I've filed an error report, No. 2003500094.

Best wishes,
  • Is it any specific item type that you were trying to cite with that style?
  • yes: 'journal article'
  • Of those, African Invertebrates is the only style that's dependent, i.e. just a link to another style (Pensoft), so that's likely the issue here.

For your own purposes, you can just use the pensoft style, which will have the same output.

@dstillman anything useful in the error report?

  • Thank you; that had become my plan, so your affirmation is welcome!

    Best wishes to all,
    Satisfied User
  • @adamsmith — yes, there's a citeproc-js error:
    [JavaScript Error: "state.fun.decorate[params[0]][params[1]] is undefined" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/citeproc.js" line: 5522}]
