Zotero for Windows compared to Zotero Chrome Connector

What is the difference between Zotero for Windows and Zotero Chrome Connector? I am trying to understand the difference between the functions, data collected/accessed, etc. for both programs before I download either one. In other words, I am trying to decide which program to download, or which program is right for me.

Thank you for the reply. One more question for you. When I try to install Chrome Connector, it asks for permission to read and write all the webpages I visit. How much information will actually be accessed by "reading and writing" my webpages?

And is that only the webpages I add to the Zotero tool, or to all webpages I ever visit on my web browser?

Thank you for the link. It looks like data is only saved when I add a webpage to the Zotero Connector. But I am still wondering if any personal or identifiable data is ever read, accessed, or saved.
