Web Library Synchro

Hi,

I am working on a shared library with other collaborators. But when I have imported references on my computer side (imported RIS from PubMed), it seemed like the web library cannot be synchronized and I have tried to synchronized for many times: but only the folders are updated but not references inside the folder. I wonder if this is the problem of my computer side or PubMed import
  • Thank you so much! This one aligns with my problem: A red error icon to the left of the sync icon.

The creator name “Brereton, Brereton, Christensen, Chu, Cohen, Emser…” in one of your items is too long to sync. Shorten the field and sync again.
If you receive this message repeatedly for items saved from a particular site, you can report this issue in the Zotero Forums.

I have received for multiple times and I cannot fix this. I wonder if you have further suggestion and thank you so much!
  • What do you mean by "I cannot fix this"? You need to fix the item if you want to sync.
  • Because it occurs too many times as I imported thousands of references from databases. So I mean if there is a setting where I can adjust to allow for a longer list of creator names. Thank you so much!
  • No, you'll need to fix these manually in order to sync.

This is by definition bad data, so the items aren't valid with it.

If you tell us where exactly the data came from, we can see if we can fix future imports.

Thank you so much! I believe these imports with a long list of creator names come from the CINHAL (a nursing database) and from what I have edited, these imports included editors in their creator list which I think maybe the reason of repetitive errors (because these data are definitely not invalid).
I really appreciate your feedback which helped me to better how Zotero works! And at this time point, we only have hundreds of references to be screened so I exported my library and shared as a document with my collaborators and I will fix these manually if needed. Have a nice Friday!
