Footnotes

Something is happening with my document. I'm using Zotero for google docs for my paper. Since yesterday, anytime I try adding a footnote it appears as normal text where the small citation number should appear. I've tried reinstalling the app and the edge extension twice and it is still the same Do any of you guys know how to fix this? (The citation style I'm using is Chicago 17th edition full note )
