Improving Advanced search with OR operator and wildcard characters

I like Zotero and I follow its improvements with interest. One improvement that I find very urgent regards the Advanced search pane and the use of Boolean operators which are among the pillars of information retrieval. At the moment in the Advanced search pane it is possible to use only the AND operator by selecting the + button. It is not possible to use the OR operator which is very important when you are not sure about what terms to use and you would like to use synonyms with the OR operator. Another feature that should be added is the possibility of using wildcard characters such as a * for representing one or more characters: this is also very useful when you are not sure about spelling and terms used.

There's an option at the top of the search dialog for using an "any" (OR) or "all" (AND) search. You can chain searches together for more advanced permutations.

Most of the search fields do a double-sided wildcard search automatically, though that will probably change to be a left-bound search in the future for performance reasons. One thing you can't do currently is a phrase search with a wildcard in the middle.
