When will Zotero's data model reflect updates to CSL?
[Part of this question may be better posed to the CSL team, but since they have no general-purpose forum---and b/c some of y'all also develop Zotero---I've decided to add that here.]
How far does Zotero's data model development lag CSL's? Since @adamsmith discussion in July, CSL 1.0.2 was released in September. Further, they seem close to finishing 1.1 (how close they are is unclear from both GitHub or blog, so any update on that would be helpful too). This would put CSL two versions ahead of that accepted by Zotero.
A cursory search in Zotero's repos doesn't yield much in the way of data-model updates.
Alternatively, could users simply load in a 1.0.2 style and add some mappings to the data file? I understand that 1.0.2 almost completely preserves compatibility with 1.0.1.

We're likely going to do this shortly and Zotero will basically work with CSL 1.0.2 immediately, though some things will require adjustments (e.g. mapping the computer program item type to the new CSL software) and you'll likely need to use the Extra syntax for others for some time. I don't have any insight in how close Zotero is to their release of updated data model. Pretty sure that you can already use Zotero with 1.0.2 styles now, but you'll get a non-validating warning.
Nothing specific on 1.1 -- the main issue there is that we need more clarity from processor developers until when the most widely used processors can support 1.1. I think the hope is still summer/fall 2021, but we're not going to rush things and create chaos.
(We do have a CSL forum, btw https://discourse.citationstyles.org/ )
