Can't pull pdfs through with metadata for articles

Hi. I've never had a problem with this before. I used to click on the connector on the landing page that contains the article details and the pdf, and then both the metadata and the pdf were pulled through into my Zotero account. Now I only get the metadata and just a big red cross where it says pdf.

Any advice would be very welcome. My Zotero is up to date, so is my Firefox (and my Chrome that I've also tried it on).

Thanks
  • Sorry. How about - https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/09615768.2004.11427576 (I'm logged into the journal website through my University account though, so can access the pdf itself).

I had no trouble harvesting the pdf from this very article a month ago, and many times before (I often use it to demonstrate in teaching)

    thanks very much!

  • Works in general. Could you please provide a debug output ID from Zotero (not the connector) for saving that item?

Also, how exactly are you logged into the journal website? Is there a proxy, do you go through the university's IP, are you actually logging in to Taylor & Francis (if you don't know the technical details, just describe exactly what you do to log in).
  • Many thanks for all the help, Adam. I've followed those steps and this is the debug ID I got - D51157414.

    Thanks again

www-tandfonline-com.[…].idm.oclc.org:443 uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates.
An additional root certificate may need to be imported.
Your proxy server is incorrectly configured. You'll need to report this to your library or IT department. You can point them to the technical explanation here (and you can see that the server shows an error about the certificate chain on the linked test):

  • This is very helpful indeed. thank you very much! I'll do just as you suggest.
