How to use textual footnote for Journal of Acoustical Society of America citation style

According to the JASA style guide (section V.A; p. 7) there are two options for in text citation (1) textual footnote and (2) alphabetical bibliography.

Is there a way to use the textual footnote style with zotero? When I add the JASA style I can only figure out how to use the alphabetical bibliography style.

Thanks
  • Not currently, no. That'd require a completely separate style
  • Thanks for the reply! Do you know if a style exists for this? I've looked around with no luck.
  • Are the formats for the styles generally similar between the two styles? Could you describe the differences between the bibliography in the alphabetical style and the notes in the footnote style?
  • The citation format within bibliography is the same (although they are sorted differently). The difference is that for textual footnote, the in text citation is a superscript number (and bibliography is numbers and sorted in order of article appearance). For alphabetical bibliography in text citation is (author, year) and the bibliography is un numbered and sorted alphabetically.
  • (in CSL terms it's a numeric bibliography rather than footnotes)

We call this a numeric style (and I really dislike "textual footnote"). While making a numeric style when the bibliography is the same literally takes 2min, in this case have a look again, the two bibliographies are different.

I have logged the request, but it'll take time.
