  • I'm not sure I understand.

It looks like you've been syncing regularly. Do you see the correct data in your online library? After upgrading, have you synced to pull down your data from the online library?

Note that you should always make a full backup of your computer, including your Zotero data, before doing any sort of maintenance work. While you can restore from data saved to the cloud, it's always better to have a local copy of your data.

(Feel free to respond in Spanish.)
  • Hola.

Hi. Thank you for responder. I don't see the correct data in the online library. I have synced but the data is not correct. If you could recover data from five days ago that would be great. Unfortunately I did not backup to the computer before the update.

The online library has whatever data you synced to it. If you weren't fully in sync before wiping your computer, you would only be able to restore data from the last time you synced, unless you made a more recent local backup. There's no way for us to recover data of yours we never had.
  • So, I lost all my library because I didn't make a copy before reset my pc.

    Thanks
  • Yes, like any other data on your computer. Again, you just never want to reset your computer without a full backup.

To be clear, if Zotero was set to auto-sync, which it is by default, you should've been fully in sync. But if you were syncing manually and hadn't synced in a while, or you were getting some error but hadn't addressed it, your online library might have been out of date.
  • I thought that when I inserted a new bibliography this automatic was saved in the cloud, being connected to the internet and logged into my application.

    Thank for your time
  • Do you mean inserting a new bibliography in a word processor document?

Or do you just mean saving items to Zotero, from your browser or by importing from a file?

The former has nothing to do with syncing.

The latter will trigger an auto-sync, but again, only if you haven't turned off auto-sync, and only if you're not getting some sort of error, shown by an error icon to the left of the sync button in the Zotero toobar.
  • I was surely wrong. I added my bibliography to zotero (on my pc) but surely I never synchronized and did not upload the data to the cloud.

    My fault.

    Thanks again
  • (note that I responded to you with an option to get at least your citation information back from Word documents in which you cited them in the other thread you posted to)
  • that would be fantastic. How can I do it. Recover from word?
  • You may use this tool to extract citations from Word documents.
Caveat is that the citations need to be active citations, but it should work for you.

And of course make sure automatic syncing is on, so data loss is likely next time.
  • Muchas gracias. La herramienta ha funcionado y ahora tengo mi bibliografía de regreso.

    Muchas muchas gracias
