More motivation for shuffling items / sort by random
I'm aware of the discussion here https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/32541/shuffle-item-list
I would like to say more about why shuffling is very helpful. I get tired of looking through my massive PDF list and deciding what to read. It would be great if I could shuffle my entire library and I'd just get the item off the top for the afternoon.
More generally, if one is hoping to connect disparate ideas and come up with new thoughts, then a random sort on their library could have many uses. Our eyes tend to ignore the same parts of the same image when we see it multiple times.
(BTW I am a long-time user, this is just a new account.)
I'm sure you know more about implementation than me, but one way this could work is that you have a button "assign new random IDs to entire library", then you numerically sort by that column, and when you want a new sort, you reset the IDs again.
