Formatting date display format

Is there a way to format the various date strings displayed by Zotero? I work in an international environment, our computers use an English language version of Windows, but we still do not want to bother with AM/PM, e.g., let alone the American way of putting months first (Sorry, it's just what you are used to). My preferred date string would be YYYY-DD-mm (which I understand Zotero is using internally for sorting anyway?), but even the German formatting (despite the English interface) would be better.

Is there anything? Perhaps a hidden config variable? Thanks in advance.

Bit of a stop-gap solution, but thanks … I'm not a huge fan of UK spelling but it's better than before. (Still would prefer my dates in ISO format, but hey …)

That said, making assumptions based on the interface language seems, well, generally not exactly ideal. If you can't evaluate the user's locale settings at least let them configure/override it, is what I'm saying. Ah, well.
