"issued" and "ongoing range of publication"

Hello,

I know that for getting a date range as publication date I enter "issued: 2000/2007" into the extra field.
But how do I do that when it is an ongoing publication, i.e. the last volume has not yet appear?

In many styles (including mine) the output should be "2007–", but how do I enter this into Zotero. Entering "issued: 2007/" into extra does not work.
Is there a way to do this?

Many thanks in advance,
best,
Daniel
  • Since open date ranges aren't defined in ISO 8601, I don't think there's a way to do that.
  • ok, thanks for the swift answer!
That will be one thing to do manually then ...

    Best wishes,
    Daniel
  • They are defined in EDTF. I think that in Extra this should work
    Issued: 2012-01-13/
  • Thanks, I tried it. But the output is still just "2012", without a following en dash to show an ongoing range.

The EDTF conventions, however, say that having nothing following the slash is exactly how to specify a time interval with unknown end.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the idea!

  • Okay, an alternative is to format the date exactly how you want to to appear and then wrap it in quotes. That will be passed through literally
  • this worked!
    thanks!

    Best wishes,
