Presentations and DOI

I find useful the opportunity to share my slides with open platforms like Zenodo. Citing one of my presentations, I noticed that Zotero does not allow presentations to have their own DOI. Even though I can bypass this problem by using the URL field, it would be great to add the DOI field for presentations too.

    You can add it in Extra like this
    DOI: 10.1234/56789

    Thanks for the suggestion, but I think it is always an incomplete solution. In this way, the DOI is not automatically exported with the citation as it happens with the publisher field (Zenodo) that is saved as extra.

    It will be included in citations and will migrate to a prophet field automatically when one becomes available

    Depends on the citation style. If you use APA style, e.g., you'll get the DOI.

    I checked further: using Chicago Style (author-date), DOI stored in Extra appears in documents (a) but not in presentations (b).

    Not what I'm seeing. If I just use the Save to Zotero button from Zenodo for the second one, which saves the DOI into Extra, I get

    Rodighiero, Dario. 2019. “Super-Vision.” November 14. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3553071.

    If I manually add place & meeting name I get

    Rodighiero, Dario. 2019. “Super-Vision.” Presented at the Liberact V Conference, NC State University, November 14. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3553071.

    Chicago author-date will print DOIs for every item type other than a legal case.

    Probably I did wrong before, now it is working properly as you show. Thanks for your help, the Extra field is very useful for future updates.
