"Join" link for private group libraries

I use Zotero groups for teaching classes. My university makes it a pain to compile the list of student emails in a course. I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option to generate a URL for private groups that could be posted (e.g., in a course LMS) that would allow some to join or request to join a private group?

    I was about to ask the same thing. Even an option to request to join would be good if it cannot be done automatically with a link.

    Also, do I presume that at the moment users have to be invited to a private group because they will not see the group online or the Join button?
