Id. or idem in italics as a prefix when suppressing the author

Hi there,

I would need you help with the following problem. In the footnotes, when I have to cite some references and they are written by the same author, I suppress the author from the second on and I writte "Idem" or "id." as a prefix, but I'm not able to write it in italics and I should do it. How could I get it?
