Calcified Tissue International - more than 3 authors

Current journal standards require 7 authors in the bibliography before including et al. The problem is that automatically, after the third author already appears written et al. How do I adjust this? Any updates maybe?

I don't really think the standards are all that clear -- they say et al is acceptable for many authors and provide one example with all authors. I think starting et al. with 5 authors (which is what the style does) is the most common practice on Springer. Contrary to the above text, the passage should read:

Ideally, the names of all authors should be provided. For references with more than 7 authors the usage of “et al” after the first 7 authors have been named will also be accepted
