Alphabetical Literature Cited

I am using the American Midland Naturalists' citation format, and the referenced cited are not appearing alphabetically. I've seen information on other forum discussions on modifying this, but I don't understand where/how to edit the code. I understand I can use the 'style editor' to modify the code used for the style. Still, I don't understand how I can modify it, so my references are listed alphabetically.

    Ok, thank you! Do I need to update my Zotero app or hit refresh in Word? What would you recommend?

    Update the style by clicking "Update Now" in the Advanced tab of the Zotero preferences. You might need to switch to a different style and back in your document for the change to take effect.

    (Generally no need for clicking "Update Now" within Zotero itself — Zotero now updates within 5-10 minutes of a style or translator update by default. It's just translators in the Zotero Connector that aren't yet automatically updated for up to 24 hours.)
