Removing word plugin from Word on Mac
Hi there,
I had been using Zotero and loved it. But now my institution has specific guidelines which aren't available in Zotero :(
I uninstalled the programme, but still see the plugin in Word. How can I remove this? I've checked on the forum with no success.
I'm working on a Mac with Big Sur OS. Would I need to reinstall, remove the plugin, and then uninstall again?
Thanks so much.

But you might want to actually ask in a separate thread about your desired format. Something similar might exist.
I have now found out how to do it:
Once in Word, in the ribbon click Tools > Templates and Add-ins > Uncheck Zotero.
From here, you can open a Finder window, press cmd + shift + g, and type in the location of the add-in as seen in the Templates and Add-ins window mentioned above (I left out the Zotero., ending in "Word/" so that the file can be deleted). From there, it can be deleted from the system and no longer appears in the Templates and Add-ins for Word.
You don't say where the file actually was, but if the path ended in Word/, that sounds an awful lot like the default Startup folder (~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Word), as documented on that page.
If you somehow installed the template into Word without it being in the Word Startup folder, you would need to delete it separately, but that would've been something you did contrary to any instructions, so you'd be on your own to undo it.
In any case, again, I'd recommend posting the actual style requirements in a new thread to see how easy it is to get Zotero to output the format you need.
