Endnote import Javascript application error

Hey All,

I followed the directions to import my endnote library into zotero (selected RIS output style, chose text only, etc.), but I got an error that said Javascript Application: an error occurred while trying to import selected file. Please ensure file is valid and try again.

It looked like it imported only about 1/4 of the files I selected, so I tried again with a smaller number of files, but it still gave the same error. I tried a third time and same result and only 3 of the 20 files I selected imported.

Any suggestions what I might do to fix this problem?

Thanks!

P.S. I'm using the most recent endnote trial version.
  • create an error report from the gears menu in Zotero, send it and post the ID here (as well as the parts that look relevant to you if you want to).
  • Does this help?

JavaScript Error: "uncaught exception: [Exception... "Cannot modify properties of a WrappedNative" nsresult: "0x80570034 (NS_ERROR_XPC_CANT_MODIFY_PROP_ON_WN)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://global/content/bindings/autocomplete.xml :: onxblpopuphiding :: line 836" data: no]"]

[JavaScript Error: "uncaught exception: [Exception... "Cannot modify properties of a WrappedNative" nsresult: "0x80570034 (NS_ERROR_XPC_CANT_MODIFY_PROP_ON_WN)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://global/content/bindings/autocomplete.xml :: onxblpopuphiding :: line 836" data: no]"]

    [JavaScript Error: "this.item is undefined" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/bindings/itembox.xml" line: 297}]
  • error ID? Don't hesitate to send a new one.
I think the crucial error is probably the last one, but hard to tell.
  • I'm not sure what you mean by error ID, or post the ID. Where do I find that? I just copy and pasted the error report, but I didn't see any ID.
  • When you submit the error report, it gives you a Report ID.
  • you have to press the "next" button below the window that shows the actual error.
  • Ah, gotcha, here is the report ID: 832023302
