Zotero not referencing properly APA 7th style.

Hello, I believe Zotero is not referencing properly when it comes to APA 7th style.
In 7th style when citing online books, articles, online journals...
When referencing those in word Zotero italicises the title of the article instead of the page is coming from.

In APA 7th we only titles of print books or online books need to be italicised.

As well, the "retrieved from" is no longer needed to precede the ULRs

Could this be solved please?

Thanks
  • We'd need an example. In all likelihood this is a problem of data entry, not of the APA style.

I don’t know what you mean, can you give an example? This sounds like a data entry issue.

No, this is not correct. Items without container titles are consistently italicized in APA 7.

APA 7 does say “retrieved from” if the access date is shown, which in the CSL style is if there is no publication date. Do you have a publication date in your data?
  • adamsmith, that's what I thought initially but I tried to change it and the error was still there.

For example, we take this article from the following ULR: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/freshwater/pollution/

Zotero automatically fills the title with "Fresh Water 101" correct. However, when you add the bibliography in word this is how it appears.

    Nunez, C. (2020, January 16). Fresh Water 101. National Geographic. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/freshwater/pollution/

After checking out the guidelines for APA 7th, what should be italicised is "National Geographic" which is the title of the website, in Zotero is referred as:Website title, and the title of the article leaved as is.

Regarding the "retrieved from" you are correct. I had a publication date and that's the reason it was being added.
  • If you have that entered as a website, you’re mistaken about APA7 rules. APA treats website titles like publishers, not magazine titles. So the page title is italics and the website title is upright (example 110).

Personally, I would probably enter this as a Magazine Article in Zotero rather than a Webpage.
