Amount of items in library is not the same as individual folders in that library.

I have an issue with zotero that the amount of items in a specific library (1209) is not the same as the amount of items in the individual folders of that library, but a lot less.

So for instance, folder 1 has 1103 items in it; folder 2 has 89 items in it; and folder 3 has 61 items in it. This adds up to 1253. I checked already the unsorted items folder, but that one is empty. How is this possible?

Also, perhaps related, I have merged some duplicates via the merge function of zotero. But I see those specific items still in folder 2 and in folder 3, is it not suppose to 'remove' a duplicate item from one of the folders so that you only have a specific item in one folder instead of two?

These aren't folders, they're collections, so the same item can be in multiple collections at the same time. Merging duplicates leaves the merged item in all collection any of the original items where in.
