How to get rid of the whitespace when using display ='block'

I want to show the short title at the end of each reference with a new line, I edited the csl file, and insert <text variable="title-short" display="block" suffix=". How to get rid of the whitespace, or is there another solution to show the short title in another line without the whitespace on the end of the short title.

I don't think you can do newlines without the extra line space between entries.
