Saved searches based on collections are not persistent

I have a half dozen saved searches set up the way Lincoln Mullen recommends here:
http://lincolnmullen.com/archives/2009/08/how-to-create-a-work-flow-in-zotero/

My problem (as I commented there too) is that when I turn on one of the different computers I use from day to day and Zotero does a sync, it looses track of the collection that each saved search is supposed to be pointing to. It looses track consistently, but does not consistently point to the same wrong collection. Each time it chooses a different one. I believe I'm using the latest 2.0 beta on all the machines I use.

?
  • Ah—we'll need to fix that. Saved searches still refer to collections by ids, which are no longer necessarily consistent across machines in 2.0. We'll switch it to use permanent keys instead. Thanks for reporting this.
  • Fantastic! Thank you very much.
  • I'm still experiencing this after upgrading to 2.0b7. I'm assuming this just didn't make it in to that release yet.

Is there a bug tracking/support ticket site somewhere where I can check on the status of this?
  • OK, never mind my last question, I just found the Trac on the dev site.

I didn't find anything that looked like this issue in the report here:
    https://www.zotero.org/trac/report/1

Is there a ticket in the system for this bug or do I have to register one myself?
  • No need. This will do. This isn't fixed in 2.0b7, but it'll be fixed by 2.0 Final, and I'll post here when it is.

Fixed in the latest dev build, and the fix will be included in the next release. Note that searches synced with an earlier version won't be repaired, but newly created (or edited) searches will sync properly.
  • Thanks! This will really speed up my workflow on future projects.
