Google Docs > Zotero button > Sign-in Gmail > Choose an Account > Error

I recently found out that it's possible to use Zotero with Google Docs in Chrome, but I'm getting an error message when I try to use it for the first time.

When I click the Z button in the gDocs bar and choose the gmail account that I want to link to, I get this message:

"Zotero experienced an error updating your document. Would you like to view troubleshooting instructions?"

None of the troubleshooting options really apply to my situation because I am trying to link the account to Google docs for the first time, not debug a document (https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/debugging_broken_documents). I am using the latest version of Chrome and Zotero is up to date.

I checked and I can still use Zotero with MS Word no problem. I'm currently logged into Zotero with the gmail account I want to use.

I also restarted Chrome, Zotero, and my computer, but I'm still getting the error message.

I'd really appreciate some assistance. Please and thank you!

This would happen if you chose a different account in that prompt from the one you used to create the Google Doc.

This has nothing to do with your Zotero account.
