OCLC - What Is It and Can I Delete It Out of The 'Extra'-Field?
Hello everyone,
I discovered that many of my items have an 'OCLC: number' (e.g. OCLC: 696632769) entry in the 'extra' field. I did not place it there. What is it and can I delete the entry?
Thank you,
Timon

adamsmithedited October 19, 2020It's the OCLC identifier, a unique ID assigned to books and other library items by OCLC, the organization that runs Worldcat (the catalog from which you presumably imported the item in question). No problem with deleting it if you have no use for it.
