more efficient backup?

When doing a full backup of my firefox directories, there appears to be multiple repeated png and other files in the zotero storage directories. Is it possible to make the storage more efficient?

There are advanced backup tools that will back up only one copy of each unique file, but unfortunately that's not too common.
