Citations with short titles
I need to be able to have in-text citations in three forms:
(author date)
author (date)
(short title)
The last of these is because I need to cite ancient historical sources for which an author date citation would not be helpful. For example:
Bonner (1973) made use of Bede's discussion of Lastingham (Ecc. Hist., II.4), although this has been criticised (Frankenstein 2012).
I cannot see that any style currently supports anything like this, although such citations are used in main-stream publications, notably the New Cambridge Medieval History. Any thoughts?
