Upgrade Storagewget in the Zotero UI?

Is there anything like a cURL or Wget fetch command if one has a URL for a pdf inside of Zotero? ( a browserless way to import a PDF which doesn't involve an ISBN, DOI, or PMID?)

Pretty sure it'd be accessible through the javascript API if you want to script something for a larger batch operation (though I'd guess wget + drag&drop would be much faster to write&do)
