View PDF with a snap installation on a Manjaro Linux OS.

I have a problem when I try to open PDFs form Zotero. I'm running Manjaro Linux and using KDE. I have a Snap installation of Zotero, but not sure if this makes any difference. My default PDF viewer is Okular. I tried two things with Zotero:
1) Open PDF using "system default". When I right click a PDF and click "view PDF" nothing happens.
2) Open PDF using "custom", and give choose the Okular executable file. When I right click a PDF and click "view PDF" nothing happens.

My work around is to first right click and choose "show file" which opens the PDF location in Dolphin and then open the file from there.

Any ideas why Zotero is not opening the PDF file right away?

Almost certainly the Snap. You can confirm that easily enough by downloading and trying the tarball.

Indeed it seems like a snap thing. When opening Zotero from the decompressed .tar.bz2 file it works as expected. Is there a way to get a .pkg.tar file?

We only provide the official tarball.

Thanks. I guess I will avoid the snap version for now. I found it in the AUR repo, so I'm using that for now. Would you advice against using AUR's package?

We can really only speak to the tarball. If you do choose to use something else, you'd certainly want to make sure it was being kept up to date with the latest versions of Zotero.
