Whole library duplicated: how to merge rapidly?

Every single item in my library got duplicated (possibly after synchronizing). Is there a way in which I can 'batch-merge' the items, instead of going through this item per item (=>800 times)?

Syncing can't duplicate items. Most likely, you used export and then imported on another computer, which simply creates new items. If you then sync, that's the same as syncing any two computers with completely different sets of items.

The easiest thing to do is sort by Date Added and delete the whole range of imported items.

Note that any imported items will not be linked to citations in word processor documents, so you want to make sure you delete those items, not the original items.
