using zotero with adobe

does anyone know how/if zotero works with adobe? i have a pdf file that i'm trying to cite/use ina paper, but i can't seem to find a way to connect the two.
  • What do you mean? Zotero acts as a manager for your references and can save or link PDFs with them. If you have bibliographic metadata about the PDF file you could use Zotero to cite that in a paper, but that is not really about connecting Zotero and Adobe — unless you're writing the paper in Adobe. What word processor are you writing the paper in?
  • In Zotero 2.0, if your pdf has searchable text:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/retrieve_pdf_metadata

    If your text is not searchable or you are using Zotero 1, you can either find a reference online to download or can add a reference manually & then attach the PDF to that new reference.
  • Sorry for any confusion:

    i'm using Word 2008 for mac to write the paper.
    I'm reading a pdf file through adobe reader and want to cite it in my paper.
    How do I add it to my zotero collections?

    oh, and i have the beta2 version of zotero

    Welcome to Zotero!

    1. First check out the Quick start guide.

    2. Then read up on how to attach files.

    3. For citing stuff in Word 2008, you will need this plugin. Installation instructions are here and a general explanation is under Word processor integration.
