IEEE Conference Location Download
Hi, I mainly use IEEExlore for my research. Surprisingly I realized that there was no automatic import of conference locations, even though it is listed on IEEE. Is there a way to import this item automatically or do I have to check every conference paper manually?
The field seems to be there in Zotero. Thanks a lot

FWIW, though, "place" in the "Conference Paper" item type should be taken to refer to the publication place of the conference proceedings, not the location of the conference, which is rarely cited for formally published papers in proceedings

There is for each article a field for conference location on the respective page.
In the IEEE-Reference guide is a section concerning conference papers and the conference location should be mentioned. So if the "place" item does not refer to the conf. location, how should one save it to the resp. paper?
Thanks!
For published papers, IEEE says
J. K. Author, “Title of paper,”in Abbreviated Name of Conf., (location of conference is optional), (Month and day(s) if provided) year, pp.xxx-xxx.
and none of the following examples do have the location. If you really want to add it you can use
event-place: Stuttgart
but it's not going to get picked up by IEEE style. While it's listed on the page, it's not something that IEEEXplore exports in structured format. You can check the RIS and BibTeX output under "Cite," neither of which include the conference location.
