Linguistic style request -- LSA

Dear fellow linguists:)

Could someone make the LSA (Linguistic Society of America) reference style for zotero at last? (I've seen that someone has posted a similar request last year:()

That is the style for most modern linguistic papers, and not just in the US.

    I know, and sorry for the "at last" comment. I'm just incapable of making such an xml file, and was hoping for someone with better understanding of the matter.
    Do you think I should still try and take the steps on the Request New Bibliographic Styles page, if I have the time?

    I remember there was something already. Let me search for it. In any case, here is the information needed:

    1. Official style sheet: http://www.lsadc.org/info/pubs-lang-style.cfm and http://linguistlist.org/pubs/tocs/JournalUnifiedStyleSheet2007.pdf

    2. Collection containing test items (i.e. the references used as examples in their style sheet): LSA (Language)

    So... here's a preliminary version: http://ideophone.org/download/language.csl

    Couple issues still:

    1. It should be Dorian, Nancy C. (ed.) 1989 instead of Dorian, Nancy C. (ed.). 1989. — I couldn't think of a way to get rid of that final period after (ed.), which is added by the contributors macro.

    2. I have validated it and two slight errors remain (an undefined term "linguistics") and "bad character content for element updated/ (which presumably will be fixed upon addition to the CSL repository).

    3. However, I couldn't commit it to the CSL repository because of a Unix newline problem. Not sure how to fix that (Bruce, are you looking?).

    I can do the upload for you. Yes, the update fixes itself - it's added automatically.
    I would call this generic for the time being - since the terms are just for sorting, they aren't super-crucial elements, especially if the style title has "linguistics" in it.

    Okay, I changed the term to generic. While you're at it, I also developed a style for another linguistics journal: Journal of Pragmatics (Elsevier). Maybe you could upload that one too.

    OK, I fixed the period after (eds.) (I took out the suffix ". " in the bibliography section and included it into the contributor macro) and uploaded both styles. Thanks for contributing.

    Dudukk, they're ready for use (in fact, I have even published an article using the Journal of Pragmatics style). Just download them from the links above (right click > save as...) and then install them in Firefox as described here:
    Then, in Firefox, import the style either via the program menu (File→“Open File…”) or just drag-and-drop the file into an open browser window. In Zotero 2.0 styles can also be added via the Styles tab in the Zotero preferences panel.

    yep - you can then update the style from the repository with my mini-fix for the punctuation once its up.

    I just fixed the punctuation anyway, so dudukk, if you redownload the Language style from ideophone.org it should work alright. Thanks for helping me on that one, Adam.

    So what's up with SVN? Do you also get this pre-commit hook complaining about Unix eols?

    ok - SVN works again for me.
    How are you writing your csl styles (i.e. which text editor? It complained about the type of newlines. I fixed that as per instructions from Dan on the other thread. Both files are now uploaded.

    Great! Umm... these ones I think I wrote in Notepad++ (I wrote them last year so I'm not entirely sure). Now I have access to OxygenXML, which works a lot nicer.
