We can also just update the documentation to reflect those exact steps. None of us have Chromebooks, so we haven't been able to document the exact steps ourselves, but this should let us do so. Thanks, @rafaelr3!
Hi @rafaelr3 and @dstillman , the port forwarding does not work out on my laptop. I cannot edit Zotero on google doc. Any further guidance will be greatly appreciated!
Hi @dstillman, Thanks for responding. In the video the port typed in is 23199 and it works! Neither 23119 or 23199 works for me. Could you please show some references so that I could possibly sort it out?
We don’t have anything to do with that video. 23119 is the port that the Zotero HTTP server uses and what’s documented on the support page linked above.
Hi @dstillman, thanks again for responding. As the connection forwarder app in the documentation page cannot be launched after Chrome OS being updated to v87, would you plan to provide a walk-through for Chrome's in-built port forwarding setting?
I know it's 2025 now, but I'm putting this here in case anyone else needs it. If you need to forward the 23119 port natively (considering that chrome add-ons are dead), in your settings, go to Developer Settings > Port Forwarding. You can then add 23119 as a port and label it whatever you want. I labelled it "zotero" for simplicity.
