Chicago EndNote Style - help

Hi,

I'm supposed to use Chicago EndNote Style. My partner and I are using Zotero in Google Docs.

I've seen this Zotero documentation that describes notes v author, date : https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/chicago_style_versions but it doesn't answer my question

The variants of Chicago Style that look relevant to me (note, full note) create footnotes, not endnotes.

I see a lot of other Chicago styles available for download from the Zotero website, but I can't tell if any of them will create endnotes vs footnotes.

Are there any Chicago EndNote users who could tell me which Zotero style would create endnotes instead of footnotes, and also a bibliography? Or any suggested workarounds? (I'm thinking of using Zotero to create a static list of endnotes to insert before the bibliography)

I'm new to Chicago, it is confusing the heck out of me, so feel free to be as basic as possible if you have suggestions.

Thanks!
Lea

  • You can set that in the document preferences. See the screenshot in the knowledge base here: https://www.zotero.org/support/google_docs

I haven't tested recently, but in spite of the Zotero docs, I'm pretty sure Google docs simply doesn't support endnotes at all -- whether via Zotero or otherwise, so this simply isn't possible if you want to use Google docs. Recommendation would be to write with footnotes and then export the document to Word in the end and turn the footnotes into endnotes.
  • Yes, adamsmith is correct. The screenshot should be updated in Google Docs Zotero wiki page.
  • Hi all,

Definitely something I hadn't realized. Thank you damnation, adamsmith, and bwiernik!!

    Take care :)
