How to include ISBN in bibliography?

Hello,

Is there a way to include the ISBN for a book entry in the bibliography? Right now I'm using a formatted style based off Springer.

Thanks!
  • You would either need to modify the citation style you currently using or switch to another citation style that already has the ISBN included. The latter is the easier way forward as long as you are not dead set on the exact formatting you're currently achieving with the Springer style.
  • @damnation I'm pretty set on the exact formatting that I achieved based on Springer style. I made a good amount of personal style changes that I would like to keep.

I tried to cut and paste the ISBN portion from ISO 690 code. However it didn't make any changes.
  • <text variable="ISBN"/> is the relevant bit -- you can experiment with where to put this pretty easily.
  • @adamsmith Thank you! But my apologies, I'm pretty new at this. I'm not sure where to insert this
  • How are you editing your styles? If you use Zotero's style editor, you can just move this around in the bibliography section and see what works
  • @adamsmith I'm using CSL style editor, would you recommend using Zotero style editor instead of CSL style editor?
  • It's basically the same.

Which exact Springer style are you using? Then we can guide more exactly.
  • There is 6 different ones with "Springer basic" in the name....

You can try to put it after line 155. You're in the conditional for books etc. and it'll add the ISBN after the publisher info.
  • it worked!! thanks!
