All files are stored a cloud

I suddenly see an error message warning against storing my Zotoro database in the cloud. My version of Zotero has been many versions behind, and was just upgraded to the latest version. My Zotero database is on my local disk, but everything on the disk is automatically duplicated to our cloud storage, and there is no way to stop that. Am I likely to have a problem, if I avoid syncing to the Zotero cloud storage?
  • What's the cloud storage system?

It's not about using Zotero syncing — it's about using Zotero on multiple computers with access to the same cloud storage folder. If you only ever access the Zotero database on this computer, and absolutely never access it from another computer that shares the same folder, you might avoid problems, though weird things can still happen.
  • Thanks. I only use the Zotero database on this one computer, and I don't use the Zotero cloud at all. My Zotero database is on my local hard drive.
