Co-authoring a book using Zotero sync

Hello, 2 faculty members at my institution are co-writing a book. They are both endnote users, but I was wondering if zotero sync might make it easier to use a shared library in word. So they have a group library up on the zotero server and when they are working in their word document they can add references to it from that group library (from their own zotero library). Will word recognize that these are the same references, so they don't have to mess with sharing their endnote libraries? Do you guys think this will work in zotero?
Thanks.
  • not entirely clear what you mean:
If both switch over to Zotero, this will work exactly as you describe, yes.

If they continue to use Endnote and just share stuff using a Zotero group library it obviously won't.
  • Yes Adam, I mean if both switch over to zotero - when adding references to work they would add refs from their shared group library.
  • Yes, it will work. The situation you describe is one of the primary use cases behind Zotero groups.
  • Great! Thanks Sean. I just wanted to confirm that it would work.
