ID Report: 1271439710 "Cannot edit item in read only library"

Many users of my group get this error.
When they try to synchronize the group library (whenever Zotero starts, or they just added, edited or deleted a folder in the group library), they get this message and the synchronization didn't occur.
Zotero is up-to-date and they got the same error.

The library settings are as follow:
Group Type: Private
Library Reading: Any group member
Library Editing: Any group member
File Editing: No group file storage

Can anyone help with this issue ? This slows our work.

    You're using a version of Zotero that's over a year old. Start by updating to a current version (and you should figure out why you're not receiving automatic updates).

  • OK, thanks. Can you try the Zotero beta (the ZIP version is fine on Windows) and see if the sync goes through with that?

    No more problem on synchronizing with the beta.

  • Great. We'll release Zotero 5.0.88 with this fix soon. In the meantime, you can likely switch back to 5.0.87 once the initial sync has gone through, unless you encounter this again.
