Spent a lot of time merging duplicate references

Hi everyone,
I just spent a lot of time merging duplicate references but I see that I still have unique references in my duplicates folder. Should they have disappeared (since there are no longer duplicates) or am I then supposed to move them out manually to other folders?

What do you mean by unique references? Items should disappear as you add them. Note that, depending on the column you're sorting by, duplicate items might not be grouped together, but you can see how many duplicate items are selected in the right-hand pane when you click on a given item.

If you think it's really displaying non-duplicate items, just click away and back.
