Style Error: Fungal Ecology
The main editor at FE is requesting that I re-order the in-text citations, to be sorted first by date in increasing order (then I think by author alphabetically, but this has not come up in my text).
The style sheet for this journal is here:
https://www.elsevier.com/journals/fungal-ecology/1754-5048/guide-for-authors
A current open-access example article is here:
https://doi.org/10.1016/j.funeco.2019.06.002
Unfortunately, their example for in-text citation shows two papers printed in the same year, and their language around this is unclear. After reading it I came to the same conclusion as the current zotero csl, that in-text citations should alphabetical by author. But apparently this is incorrect: the current article does show arrangement by date first, then author. Also, the editor requesting this change is the senior editor, who has been with the journal since the beginning, I believe.
I have made my edits to my in-text citations manually but wanted to share to see if some skilled/generous soul has the time/know-how to correct this. I have neither right now, but maybe in the future.
