Browser extension failing to add to Zotero application or online library

edited May 15, 2020
Hi all, I've been using Zotero for the last couple of years without any great issues. As of the last month the chrome extension no longer shows new folders I add to my library, and no longer adds articles to any of the existing folders. Ive reinstalled the extension and reauthorised access, but my efforts haven't changed anything. I must be missing something obvious.. please help!

    [JavaScript Error: "Component returned failure code: 0x804b0036 (NS_ERROR_SOCKET_ADDRESS_IN_USE) [nsIServerSocket.init]" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/server.js" line: 64}]
I'm not quite clear on what exactly is happening when you click the Save to Zotero button in Chrome. Could you explain?

But based on the above error, something else might be interfering with Zotero. Can you restart your computer and try again, and if you're still having trouble provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" button?
