Plain English Zotero-Scrivener Tutorial?

I have a new computer, so this is the second time I've set up the connection between Scrivner and Zotero. [Each time has taken me 1-1/2 days and I've had to ask for help through the Discussion Board.] I like both programs, but I don't like how difficult it is to get them to work together. All the online tutorials I've found appear to be missing at least one major critical step in the process. Or, even worse, they assume a knowledge based of the behind-the-scenes operations of programming and computers.

Is there a complete, easy-to-follow, step-by-step turorial on how to interlink Scrivener and Zotero? [Specifically, the two steps I'd like to see, are 1) using LibreOffice, .odt, and ODF Scan AND 2) intstalling 'Scannable Cite' JavaScript file.]

I appreciate the Discussion Board support, but I'd like to easier way to do this.

Thank you.
  • The installation of the Scannable Cite file isn't well documented because it's just not working the way its supposed to. In principle, it should auto-install with the add-on and it's a bug that it doesn't.

For LibreOffice and .odt, http://zotero-odf-scan.github.io/zotero-odf-scan/ is the best I can come up with. If something isn't clear, let alone missing, there we'd have to know what in order to improve it.
  • What is the problem with the install? I know I've fixed translator installation for a plugin a long while ago but I don't recall which it was for.
  • I need some advice, per this thread, as I get started on a major project. Part of what I need to do is reference many of my own digital files, via Zotero, into the writing project/projects.

    PARAMETERS:
    - Windows 10
    - Scrivener v3.0 for Win10
    - Zotero v5.0
    - Digital files...
... synced between OneDrive (OD) & Ext Hard Drive (HD)

Also, pls indicate if it’s best to work on digital files from OD vs HD.

Finally, is this the correct thread, or should I start a clean thread?

    Thanks... mmarek58
