invalid mode 'merge' in relatedbox.xml

I'm getting this 'quasi-error' on my laptop when I try to do a sync. Nothing comes up in report errors. I just get a pop-up box with this error message and the sync stops after I press OK. I've tried disabling other extensions but that didn't help. Tried reinstalling Zotero. Tried disabling file syncing, no luck there either. I'll hold off trying a Restore from Zotero Server unless you think that's the best / only option.
